Who’s behind it

About.

All My Ducks is built by one person, for the promises nobody writes down: the ones made to yourself, to the people you live with, and to the people you work with.

The person

Ed Eliot

Ed cofounded BrightLocal and, as its chief technology officer, helped grow it from two people to a team of more than 300 and $20M+ in annual recurring revenue. He is now its technical advisor. Before that he worked in engineering at large companies, Yahoo! among them. He is based in London.

He built it for himself first. By his own account he is disorganised: he promises easily and forgets just as easily. He wanted something that would hold the promise for him, show the other person the same thing, and, when a date passed, say so without making a thing of it.

Why it exists

Written down for both of you.

Most todo apps are built for one person’s list, and they are good at that. The harder problem is the promise made to someone else: said once, remembered by nobody in particular, discovered broken at the deadline, if at all. All My Ducks writes it down at the moment it is made and shows both people the same thing.

  • Private first. A passed date goes to the person who promised, and nobody else, with the choice to mark it done, pick a new date, or ask to drop it.
  • Quieter over time. Done and closed items fade from the list rather than piling up, and a passed date is never painted red.
  • Changing the plan is normal. A new date, a clear no, or letting someone off the hook are ordinary moves, not apologies.

How it’s built

Assistant-first, one API.

The web app, the REST API and the MCP server all use the same routes and the same permissions. An AI assistant, Claude, ChatGPT or anything else that speaks MCP, can add, check and renegotiate commitments exactly as a person would, with exactly their permissions and nobody else’s.

Say hello.
