Getting started.
All My Ducks starts as your own list. Three steps get you going; after that, jump to whatever you need.
Start in five minutes
-
Add your first thing
Type it as you’d say it: “Call the plumber on Friday at 9am”. The date and the time are read for you.
More in Your list -
Bring someone in
Start a home or a work workspace and invite people by email. Then ask someone for something, or promise it.

Your list
Type a todo into the add box the way you’d say it. Dates and times are read as you type: “Friday”, “tomorrow at 3pm”, “3 Oct”, “next week” or “end of the month”. Where a time could be either half of the day, the box asks Which one?.
Under the words, a switch called Kind says what it is: To do, To know, Promise someone and Ask someone. Your words set it, and one click changes it. Under it, pills say when it’s due, and who sees it or who it’s with. Each opens a small menu to change it.
When the box would word your title differently, it asks Save like this? first. It shows what will be saved, and every part can be changed there: the name, when, what it is and who sees it. Save the suggestion or your own wording; tick From now on, save suggestions without asking and it stops asking.
Tick a todo off and it moves to Done. Put it back undoes it. In a browser that can listen, hold the microphone and say it instead of typing it. Personal is your own workspace, and only you are ever in it.
Things to know
Some things aren’t for doing: “Amelia has PE on Monday, needs her kit”, a day off, a visit. Choose To know on the Kind switch, or let the box suggest it for a line with nothing to do in it.
Something to know has nothing to tick off and never slips. It sits on the calendar and as a quiet line in your list, and fades after its day. It can repeat, too.
It can last several days, up to a year. Type it as you’d say it, “Holiday for a week from Monday” or “Half term Monday to Friday”, and the box reads the first and the last day. It shows on every day it covers, and reads “Mon 12 to Sun 18 Oct”, then “until Sunday”, then “ends today”.
In the app
- Type it in the add box, and choose To know if the box hasn’t.
- For several days, type them, or pick a first and a last day on the When pill’s calendar.
- Choose who sees it on the Seen by pill.
Asks and promises
Choose Promise someone or Ask someone on the Kind switch, or let your words choose: “Ask Priya to send the deck” is an ask, and “Book the room for Priya” is a promise to her. A name that’s only mentioned is offered rather than taken. A person pill says who it’s with, and its menu finds someone else. A line under the pills says which way it goes: “You’ll do this for Priya.”, or “Priya is asked to do this. They can say yes, no or another date.” Choose either with nobody named and it asks who: a promise or an ask always has someone in it.
A promise is on both your lists straight away, and they can let you off the hook at any time. An ask needs a yes: they can say yes, suggest a different date, or say no. A clear no is a normal answer. An ask with no answer after 7 days expires, and you can send it again.
Ask a team at work and whoever says yes is the one accountable, shown as acting for their team. Teams never promise. People do.
Who sees what
A todo or something to know starts as Only you. In a home or a work workspace, its Seen by pill changes that: Only you, Everyone there, a team (in a work workspace with teams), or Choose people… to pick people and teams by name. Nobody chosen is told: it’s on their list, marked as shared by you, and anyone who can see it can add a note. In Personal, everything is Only you.
A promise or an ask is different: only the people in it see it, you and the other person, or you and the team. Nobody else in the workspace sees it, admins included.
Some things are only ever yours: the heads-up that something might slip, the prompt when a date passes, the nudge to wrap up something quiet, and suggestions from Slack. Only you see those, whoever else can see the todo.
In the app
- Open the Seen by pill under the add box, or on the item’s own page.
- Choose Only you, Everyone, a team, or Choose people….
- Pick people and teams by name. It reads “Sam and Priya” or “The Growth team”.
When a date passes
A date runs to the end of that day unless it has a time. A time is a deadline to the minute: “by 3pm” has passed at 3pm. Either way it’s in the time zone of the person who promised. When it passes on something you promised, you hear first, privately.
For the next 24 hours nobody else is told. Mark it done, pick a new date, or ask to drop it. Picking a new date is a normal thing to do. If nothing changes in that time, the other person is told it needs a new plan, and they can let you off the hook in one tap.
Old items get quieter, never louder. Done and closed items leave your list 14 days after their last change, and Show older brings them back. If something of yours has been quiet for 21 days, you get a private prompt to wrap it up or keep it. Only you see it.
Things that repeat
Type a rhythm into the add box: “every Tuesday”, “fortnightly”, “monthly on the 1st” or “every other Wednesday”. Or open the When pill: under Repeats it offers the rhythms of the day you picked, and Something else… opens the repeats picker. Add recurring on the Recurring page opens the same picker.
The picker starts with one box, What repeats?, that suggests what fits as you type: the car, the home, the internet, money and tax, people, health and travel, matched to the country you live in. Six common ones sit under it, each with a line on what it does, and Browse all lists the rest. Your own takes any name and any rhythm.
Each one appears on your list a set number of days ahead, one at a time, so nothing piles up. Start one for a domain or a site’s certificate and its date is looked up for you.
A series can take turns, like bins that alternate between recycling and general waste, each date named. In a home or a work workspace a series can be a promise to someone or an ask of them. Skip one, end the series or start it again whenever things change. They’re all on the Recurring page.
The calendar
Switch your list to Calendar to see it by week, by month or, on a wide screen, by year. A todo with a time sits at that time. Something to know that lasts several days is one band across them. What repeats is shown ahead as quiet chips, and the plus on each coming day adds straight to it.
To see your dates in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, create a feed link and paste it into your calendar app as a subscription. Each workspace has its own link. It holds the open items with a date that you can see there, and a repeat joins it once it’s on your list.
The link is private and read-only. Anyone with it can read those items, so treat it like a password. Create a new link and the old one stops working, or turn it off.
In the app
- Switch your list to Calendar.
- Choose Add to your calendar, then Create a link.
- Copy it into your calendar app as a subscription URL. It’s shown once.
Slack, Claude and more
An admin connects Slack to a home or a work workspace from Integrations, with Connect Slack. You’re linked when your Slack email is one of the addresses on your account. Then there are five ways in, and nothing is added until you add it:
- The message shortcut: Add to All My Ducks on any message opens a form with its words filled in.
- /allmyducks followed by what it is, like “/allmyducks send Priya the deck by Friday”.
- An @mention of the app in a channel it’s in, or a direct message to it. You get a private offer to check first.
- The duck: react to a message with :duck: in a channel the app is in. Only you get the offer, and the author is told nothing.
- The Home tab: what’s yours to do, with an It’s done button on each.
Suggestions start off. A workspace’s admins turn them on for everyone in it, on the workspace’s AI page or in the Home tab, and anyone in the workspace can see there whether they’re on. With them on, a sentence you write in English that sounds like a promise, in a channel the app is invited to, is suggested privately to you. Nobody is told anything unless you say yes. The message shortcut works either way.
To use All My Ducks from Claude, copy the MCP server address from Integrations and add it to Claude as a custom connector. Your browser opens to approve it, and Claude then acts as you, with your permissions and nobody else’s. The MCP page has the details.
Zapier, Make and n8n connectors are coming soon, for the workflows you already run.
Apps for iPhone and Android are coming soon.
Homes and teams
Personal is your own workspace, and only you are ever in it. To share, start a home for a partner, a housemate or the family, or a work workspace for a team, and you’re its admin. Invite each person by email. Their link works for 7 days, and nothing is tracked about them until they join.
A home is one group: everyone in it, with no teams. Teams live in work workspaces, where you can ask a team and one person says yes.
Once you’re in more than one workspace, Everything shows one list across all of them. Move a todo from its own page: its In pill lists your other workspaces, Personal included. Only a todo with just you in it moves, one from a series takes its whole series, and it arrives seen by Only you.
In the app
- Open the workspace switcher at the top and choose New workspace.
- Pick Home or Work and give it a name.
- From your account menu, open People (Who’s at home in a home) and invite by email.
